Caddie from ICB

Caddie is a professional CAD system with 3D capabilities of such systems like AutoCAD 2004. ICB uses Coin3D for visualizing 3D drawing elements.

The Caddie 10 software has used the Coin3d library for visualizing the 3D drawing elements since the very beginning of the development. Now it is a fully integrated part in their system along with other libraries - ICB use it to display and edit any files in AutoCAD DWG/DXF format.

The main benefits of using Coin3D for ICB, especially compared to writing pure OpenGL code, were the flexibility of customizing nodes at need of performance, and the grouping of nodes in separators so that large parts of the scene were skipped at rendering and selection. The module for processing and rendering raster images (SoImage1.dll) also was of a great use to allow our users smooth and fast visualizations of pictures.
