EU ARISER project

Augmentation of virtual anatomical structures extracted from pre-operative images onto the real-time video for surgical simulation and diagnostic purposes.

The challenge of ARISER project is to provide the doctor with decision support for treatment by communicating comprehensive information from multiple sources, to guided the procedure by means of visual and haptic feedback.

Guidance is based on several imaging modalities, such as ultrasound, MRI and video-endoscopy. Coin3D is extensively used as an integrating environment for the visualization system.
