Commercial, proprietary source projects working with Coin3D must always use the Coin3D Professional Edition (PEL) throughout their development process.

Please note:

• You must purchase a Coin3D PEL before beginning a commercial, proprietary source development project.
  
• You cannot begin proprietary development with the Coin3D Free Edition (GPL), and then purchase a Professional Edition License later.

It has always been of great importance to our Coin3D developers to make our libraries available to Free Software Developers.

If you are developing Free Software, i.e. software that is going to be released under the GPL or a compatible Free Software license, you are welcome download and use the Coin3D and Voleon libraries free of charge. Please note that this also involves that they are provided without support or warranty. We invite you to join our public mailing lists.
